Broncos, one-time Pro Bowl WR Courtland Sutton agree to four-year, $60.8 million contract extension

The Denver Broncos won't be breaking up their talented group of young wide receivers any time soon.

Sutton was selected by the Broncos in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft and had a solid rookie season with 42 receptions for 704 yards and four touchdowns in 16 games. The SMU product broke out in a big way in 2019, though, recording 72 catches for 1,112 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 16 contests, while earning a Pro Bowl nod in the process.

Broncos' fans monster expectations for Sutton heading into the 2020 campaign were shattered in Week 1 when he tore his ACL and missed the rest of the year. Sutton has bounced back strongly in 2021 so far, posting 43 receptions for 617 yards and two touchdowns.

Along with the 26-year-old Sutton -- who leads the team in receptions and receiving yards -- Denver also boasts 22-year-old Jerry Jeudy and 27-year-old Tim Patrick as strong wide receiver options, as well as 24-year-old Noah Fant.

The Broncos are currently tied for third in the AFC West with the Las Vegas Raiders at 5-5. They had a bye in Week 11 and will play the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 12 at 4:05 p.m. ET on Sunday.
