Broncos promote director of player personnel Darren Mougey to assistant GM

Darren Mougey has been with the Denver Broncos for one decade now, and on Thursday, the organization announced that the 36-year-old is being promoted.

Mougey joined the Broncos in 2012 as a personnel intern and then served as a personnel/scouting assistant in 2013. The former San Diego State wide receiver then held the role of college/pro personnel scout in 2014 and moving through the southwest area and western area in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

Mougey was Denver's western regional scout from 2017 to 2019 and was the assistant director of college scouting in 2020. During the 2021 season, Mougey served as the organization's director of player personnel under first-year general manager George Paton.

In early, 2022, Mougey served on the Broncos' committee with Paton during the search for a new head coach. Denver eventually hired former Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett for the job last week.
