Broncos trade OLB Randy Gregory to 49ers
The already dangerous San Francisco 49ers have boosted their pass rush.
The Denver Broncos have agreed to trade outside linebacker Randy Gregory and a 2024 seventh-round pick to the 49ers in exchange for San Francisco's 2024 sixth-round pick, per NFL Insider Tom Pelissero.
In recent days, Gregory and the Broncos had made headlines as it was initially reported that Denver would be releasing the 30-year-old OLB, who signed a five-year, $70 million contract in March 2022 with the Broncos. He had been pulled from the lineup this past week.
Instead of being released, he will now join a formidable 49ers defense.
Gregory was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2015 and had six sacks through 12 games in 2021. He has battled injuries in recent years, though, coming into the 2023 campaign fresh off of shoulder surgery.
Prior to the trade, Gregory had suited up in four games for the Broncos.
