Browns All-Pro Myles Garrett not ruled out vs. Falcons after car crash

Concerning news surfaced Monday when it was learned that Cleveland Browns All-Pro pass rusher Myles Garrett suffered "non-life-threatening injuries" when he was involved in a single-car accident after he left practice on Monday afternoon.

Browns general manager Andrew Berry has since confirmed that Garrett is dealing with a shoulder sprain, a biceps strain, minor lacerations, and bumps and bruises related to the incident, but head coach Kevin Stefanski wasn't yet ready to rule the 26-year-old out for this coming Sunday's game at the 1-2 Atlanta Falcons when he spoke with reporters Wednesday.

"Very, very grateful that he's OK," Stefanski said of Garrett, per Jake Trotter of ESPN. Stefanski added that Garrett is expected to return to the team's facility on Thursday.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he played, I know he probably wants to," safety John Johnson III remarked about his teammate. "Personally, I think he should take the week off, take it easy."

It's been reported that Garrett crashed his 2021 Porsche when he swerved to avoid an animal while traveling on a wet road. Both he and a female passenger were wearing their seat belts and were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Garrett was discharged from the medical facility Monday night. While the matter remains under investigation, it's believed the two-time First-Team All-Pro selection was not impaired by drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident.

Garrett has three sacks for the 2-1 Browns across their first three games of the season. If he can't play this Sunday, he'll look to get right for the Week 5 home matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 9.
