Browns All-Pro Myles Garrett has 'non-life-threatening injuries' after single-car accident

The Cleveland Browns had the weekend off after they improved to 2-1 on the season via a "Thursday Night Football" win over the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers but were in headlines on Monday for a much different and scarier reason.

Per Daryl Ruiter of Cleveland sports radio station 92.3 The Fan, Browns All-Pro pass rusher Myles Garrett suffered what have been referred to as "non-life-threatening injuries" after he was involved in a single-car accident in Medina County, Ohio, on Monday afternoon. According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Garrett lost control of a grey 2021 Porsche while he and a female passenger were traveling.

The two-time First-Team All-Pro selection attended practice earlier in the day, and Cabot wrote that it is believed neither drugs nor alcohol was involved in the incident. Ohio Highway Patrol noted that Garrett and his passenger were wearing their safety belts and also that the vehicle flipped multiple times. Both individuals were taken to local hospitals for evaluation.

Per ESPN stats, Garrett began Monday with three sacks on the season and just one-and-a-half quarterback takedowns away from a share of the league lead. His status for this coming Sunday's matchup at the 1-2 Atlanta Falcons was not known as of the late hours of Monday afternoon.
