Browns committed to Myles Garrett, Odell Beckham Jr.

If Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry is telling the truth, two of the biggest names on his roster won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

As Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com wrote, Berry told Baltimore radio station 105.7 The Fan last week that the club is committed to keeping defensive end Myles Garrett past his rookie contract that is set to expire after the 2021 season.

“Great player, great person. Obviously, he did make a mistake last year that he’s learned from. But our confidence in and faith in Myles has not wavered and we’re looking to seeing what he does this year and certainly for years to come.’’

Garrett accumulated 30.5 sacks across his first 37 NFL appearances, but he missed the final six games of the 2019 season after the league suspended him for striking Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph with his helmet at the end of a Thursday Night Football game.

The NFL reinstated Garrett in February

As Cabot added, new Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski, hired by the organization in January after he spent time as offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings, spoke highly of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. during a recent appearance on Cleveland station 92.3 The Fan.

"One of the things we talked about is how he's going to factor in this offense, and I showed him a bunch of tape from the previous Vikings year, I showed him tape from his Giants years, and just my vision for what he's going to be capable of doing in this offense."

In a video Beckham shared via YouTube on Monday afternoon, the 27-year-old admitted that he suffered an injury before the start of his debut season with the Browns. OBJ underwent surgery to repair a torn abductor and torn right rectus abdominis in January.

Berry has repeatedly poured cold water over rumors suggesting the Browns could trade Beckham before the start of the next NFL season.
