Browns' Kevin Stefanski stars in PSA promoting COVID-19 vaccine shots
Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski earned Professional Football Writers of America Coach of the Year honors and the 2020 Associated Press NFL Coach of the Year award for guiding the Browns to their first postseason appearance in 18 years and a playoff victory at the rival Pittsburgh Steelers.
Stefanski has a new role this spring: Star of a public service announcement encouraging all eligible Ohio residents to receive COVID-19 vaccine shots as soon as possible:
"Ohio knows how to get things done. We're not afraid to take on the tough jobs. To beat COVID and get back to the things we missed out on last year, we all need to roll up our sleeves," Stefanski says in the television spot, per Cleveland's WKYC. "To get back to the theater, back to dining out, back to fairs and festivals, and back in the stands on Sundays. It's time to roll up your sleeves, Ohio. It's time to get to work."
According to WKYC, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam said last month that the entire coaching staff and management team of the Browns had been vaccinated.
Back in March, the Browns informed season ticket holders they plan to fill FirstEnergy Stadium to 100% capacity for home games during the 2021 NFL season. The team hasn't yet indicated it will use any type of "passport" system to restrict attendance only to those who have received vaccine shots.
