Cleveland Browns are finalizing their prospect interviews ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft and an interesting name has popped up that they’ve already seen work out.

Offensive lineman Bayron Matos has never played an actual snap of football in his life but is receiving NFL interest and the Browns are one of the teams.

Matos is a huge offensive line prospect at 6-foot-7 and 313 pounds. An impressive athlete that ran a 4.9 40-yard dash, jumped 28" and 113" on the vertical jump and broad jump, and posted times of 4.77 and 7.64 in the short shuttle and 3-cone drill, according to The Athletic's Dane Brugler.

This offseason, Matos has trained with the NFL’s International Player Program (IPP) as one of 16 athletes that will be eligible to fill a 17th practice squad roster spot across any of the 32 teams — an additional spot reserved for an international player — following the rule change beginning with the 2024 season applicable to athletes outside of the United States and Canada.

Matos was a middle-of-the-pack basketball prospect who played at Mississippi State and New Mexico, before spending 2021 with South Florida. In 2022, Matos walked on to the football program at South Florida and spent the last two seasons there despite not playing in a game.

Despite being a raw prospect at best, Matos has athletic traits and size that have the NFL teams interested. Matos is not getting drafted but he’s going to have a chance to make a practice squad and be a developmental piece. Cleveland appears to be one team that is interested.
