Browns sign two-time Pro Bowl punter Dustin Colquitt

One day after placing punter Jamie Gillan on the COVID-19/reserve list , the Cleveland Browns have found their replacement for Week 14.

Dustin Colquitt -- who is the brother of punter Britton Colquitt, cousin of former punter Jimmy Colquitt and son of former punter Craig Colquitt -- is currently in his 17th NFL season. The 39-year-old was selected in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs and spent the first 15 years of his career with the organization.

Colquitt earned Pro Bowl nods in 2012 and 2016, as he averaged 46.8 and 45.1 yards per punt in each of those seasons respectively. He was a member of the 2019 Super Bowl-winning Chiefs team.

The Knoxville, Tenn., native played five games with the Pittsburgh Steelers and one with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season. He appeared in six contests with the Atlanta Falcons this year before being cut on Monday.

Colquitt is second among active players in punts (1,173) and punt yards (52,622), while sitting sixth among active players in games played (250). Colquitt is also sixth in career punt yards and eighth in career punts.
