Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. admits to playing hurt through 2019, needed surgery

In January , the Cleveland Browns confirmed that wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. underwent surgery for a core muscle injury.
Apparently, Beckham needed to go under the knife months earlier.
In a video uploaded to YouTube on Monday, the 27-year-old announced he first suffered the physical setback that led to him requiring an operation while training for his debut season with the Browns (some NSFW language):

Beckham explained that he started feeling discomfort around his groin area in June and July. He then said he tore a "little piece" of his ab around the third week of training camp, and that he was diagnosed with a torn abductor and torn right rectus abdominis after the season.

"I was f----- up the whole year," Beckham said. "Probably one of the worst surgeries I ever had."

He added that recovery is going well.

Beckham appeared in all 16 of Cleveland's regular-season games during what quickly became a disappointing season for the wideout and the team. He caught 74 of 133 targets, but finished with only four touchdown grabs, his fewest for a season not cut short by a campaign-ending injury.

The Browns ended the year with a 6-10 record and in third place in the division.

Following the 2019 NFL Draft, Browns general manager Andrew Berry claimed the organization is "happy" to have Beckham on the roster amid trade rumors that first began circulating last fall. Beckham reportedly told teams to "come get me" during the season.
