Bruce Arians: Chris Godwin might not be ready for Week 5 vs. Bears
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers edged the Los Angeles Chargers 38-31 on Sunday without Tom Brady's favorite target in Chris Godwin. Brady might have to wait even longer to get Godwin back, too, as the receiver is still dealing with an injury.
Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians doesn't believe Godwin will be ready for Tampa Bay's Week 5 matchup on Thursday against the Chicago Bears, according to team reporter Scott Smith.
Godwin suffered a hamstring bull in Tampa's 31-17 win over the Denver Broncos last week. He also missed Week 2 with a concussion.
The 24-year-old has a past history with hamstring issues. He was forced to miss the final two games of the season last year because of a hamstring injury.
Tampa Bay did just fine in Godwin's absence this week. Brady threw for 369 yards and five touchdowns against one interception. Mike Evans, who was the Buccaneers' leading receiver on the day, reeled in seven receptions for 122 yards and one touchdown.
