Bruce Arians won't retire if Buccaneers win Super Bowl: 'I'm going for two'

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with the help of Bruce Arians and Tom Brady, could win their first Super Bowl since 2003. If they win, neither Brady nor Arians have plans to retire.

It was reported earlier this month that Brady intends to play in 2021. On Tuesday, Arians revealed he plans to be on the sideline next season, too, even if the Buccaneers win the Super Bowl this year.

Arians retired twice in the past. He called it quits in 2012 after the Pittsburgh Steelers opted not to renew his contract and again at the end of the 2017 season after five years as head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. After a year out of the league, he agreed to a four-year deal with the Buccaneers.

Before Tampa's bye week, the Buccaneers were 7-5. Since then, Arians has the team 7-0 and on the brink of a Super Bowl title. He has experience in the big game, too, winning Super Bowls XL and XLIII as an assistant for the Steelers.

He'll face his toughest challenge yet in the Kansas City Chiefs, though, admitting that he's "not excited" to have to face Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill and the remainder of the franchise's potent offense.

If the Buccaneers win, it'll be their first Super Bowl title since 2003. If the Chiefs win, they'll become the first team to win back-to-back championships since the New England Patriots in 2004 and 2005 — Super Bowls XXXVIII and XXXIX.
