Buccaneers CB Logan Ryan won't 'close the door' on Rob Gronkowski unretiring
One month ago, future Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski announced his second retirement. Amidst much skepticism that "Gronk" is actually finished on the gridiron, the 33-year-old claimed again last week that he was "done with football."
Then Grokowski's girlfriend, model Camille Kostek, recently suggested that the tight end may eventually return to action. Yet again, "Gronk" found himself trying to assure folks that he's hung up the cleats for good, as he said "I wouldn't go back to football" earlier this week.
On Friday morning, Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Logan Ryan added more fuel to the fire in the argument that Gronkowski may eventually put the pads on again.
Ryan only joined the Bucs this offseason after suiting up for the New York Giants in 2020 and 2021. Prior to that, Ryan played for the Tennessee Titans from 2017 to 2019, and with the New England Patriots from 2013 to 2016, during which he was a teammate of Gronkowski's.
The duo helped lead the Patriots to championship victories in Super Bowl XLIX against the Seattle Seahawks and in Super Bowl LI against the Atlanta Falcons.
Gronkowski's first retirement lasted one season, as he sat out the 2019 campaign, before leaving the Patriots to join quarterback Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. The duo helped lead Tampa Bay to a victory in Super Bowl LV against the Kansas City Chiefs and to the NFC divisional round this past season.
