Buccaneers' Jordan Whitehead will try to play through injuries in Super Bowl LV
Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Jordan Whitehead exited the NFC Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers and did not return due to injury. His status for the Super Bowl is up in the air, though a new report Wednesday says otherwise.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Whitehead has not been ruled out for Super Bowl LV against the Kansas City Chiefs and will try to play despite his injuries.
The 23-year-old is dealing with shoulder and labrum injuries, per Rapoport.
Whitehead has been very effective for the Buccaneers during their playoff run. In three games, he has seven tackles, one pass defensed and two forced fumbles.
In 16 regular-season games, the Pittsburgh product had two interceptions, four passes defensed, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, two sacks, 74 tackles, nine tackles for a loss and three quarterback hits.
