Buccaneers QB Tom Brady would 'definitely' consider playing past 45

Many fans joke that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will play football until he's 100 years old. While that's not realistic, the six-time Super Bowl champion admitted Monday that he might play until he's half that age.

When asked if he'd play beyond 45 years old, Brady said he'd "definitely" consider it.

Brady will compete in his 10th Super Bowl when the Buccaneers host the Kansas City Chiefs at Raymond James Stadium. If the 43-year-old wins, it'll be his seventh championship and the Buccaneers' second in franchise history.

Brady is 6-3 in the Super Bowl, with his only losses to Eli Manning and the New York Giants and Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles. His 10th Super Bowl may be his toughest yet against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

The former Patriot struggled early on this season, going 7-5 before Tampa Bay's bye week. Since then, the Buccaneers are 7-0 and on the verge of winning their first Super Bowl since 2003.

Brady had one of the best seasons of his career this year, completing 65.7% of his passes for 4,633 yards and 40 touchdowns against 12 interceptions. He hadn't thrown 40 or more touchdowns since 2007 when he threw 50.
