With Cole Kmet being the only NFL-caliber tight end on the current roster, the Chicago Bears will need to make some additions this offseason. While Kmet can be relied upon as the primary starter, the Bears need multiple additions to run Shane Waldron's offense. The new offensive coordinator showed a penchant for multiple tight-end formations during his time in Seattle. The best place for the Bears to add talent to their tight end room will be in the middle rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft.

On Tap Sports Net's Building the Board scouts Ron Luce and Quinten Krzysko dove into the tight end position. You can tune in on Apple, Spotify, or YouTube!

Chicago Bears Tight End Prospects

The Bears will likely be adding two tight ends to the roster this offseason, and the 2024 NFL Draft would be the best place to look for a cheap addition with upside. So let’s break down a few of their potential targets.

Since the end of the regular season, the Building the Board team has worked hard to build a draft board for the Bears. This board accounts for scheme fit, draft preferences from previous classes, and positional needs.

Our scouts have been reviewing the players available in the 2024 NFL Draft with the goal being a final top 100 draft board for the Bears. In the latest podcast installment of Building the Board, we discussed our next batch of players with some cornerback prospects for the Bears to consider. I should note that the players aren't in any specific order. This is simply the order in which they're discussed on the podcast.

  • Jared Wiley - TCU
  • Tanner McLachlan - Arizona
  • Tip Reiman - Illinois
  • Erick All - Iowa
  • Jaheim Bell - Florida State
  • Theo Johnson - Penn State
  • Cade Stover - Ohio State
  • Ja'Tavion Sanders - Texas
  • Ben Sinnott - Kansas State
  • Brock Bowers - Georgia

What's On Tap Next?

We'll share our initial draft board in the next week. We currently have just over 100 players graded but still need to return to the tape on a few of them. Look out for future podcast episodes as we plan to knock out two positional breakdowns per week. On Thursday, Tom Kavanaugh and Bruno Ojer will examine wide receivers. And if you missed any previous installments, you can find them here!
