Cardinals activate Chandler Jones, Zach Allen from reserve/COVID-19 list

It was reported Friday that Arizona Cardinals pass-rusher Chandler Jones had cleared the NFL's COVID-19 protocols ahead of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans, but the two-time First-Team All-Pro, along with defensive lineman Zach Allen, weren't needed and didn't play in what became a 31-5 win that propelled Arizona to a perfect 7-0 on the season.

According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, the Cardinals have activated both Jones and Allen ahead of Thursday's prime-time matchup versus the 6-1 Green Bay Packers.

Defensive lineman Corey Peters is still on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Jones and Allen were also absent from the 37-14 victory at the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 17. Thus far this season, Jones has tallied five sacks, nine tackles, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and 14 quarterback hits this season. Allen, meanwhile, has 10 total tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery.

Earlier on Monday, it was learned that Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry tested positive for COVID-19 and that star wide receiver Davante Adams was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Because of the short turnaround, it's highly likely neither will participate in Thursday's much-anticipated contest.
