Packers place WR Davante Adams on reserve/COVID-19 list

It was learned earlier on Monday that Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry tested positive for COVID-19 and will almost certainly miss Thursday's game at the unbeaten Arizona Cardinals.

That was only the start of Green Bay's coronavirus-related issues.

As Jelani Scott noted for the NFL's website, the Packers placed star wide receiver Davante Adams on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday. Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk explained that Adams has previously suggested he is fully vaccinated, meaning he could return to team activities if he produces a pair of negative tests 24 hours apart and also remains asymptomatic. Because the Packers have to travel, however, it's highly unlikely Adams will be cleared in time to play Thursday.

The Packers improved to 6-1 on the campaign via Sunday's 24-10 win over the Washington Football Team. According to ESPN stats, Adams is tied for second in the league with 52 receptions, and he is third with 744 receiving yards. He's also contributed three touchdown grabs on the season.
