Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury 'praying' team reaches new deal with Kyler Murray before training camp

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is joining his teammates for mandatory minicamp this week, but fans across the desert may still be worried about how much longer the two-time Pro Bowler will be lining up under center for their favorite team. As he's done for much of the offseason, Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury addressed the topic on Tuesday.

Arizona picked up Murray's fifth-year option in April, shortly after general manager Steve Keim said that there was "zero chance" that the former AP Offensive Rookie of the Year would be traded. While his attendance at voluntary organized team activities (OTAs) was delayed, Murray did report for those practices two weeks ago.

The former No. 1 overall pick is seeking a potential contract extension after recording a 66.9% completion percentage with 11,480 passing yards, 70 touchdowns and 34 interceptions while adding 314 carries for 1,786 yards and 20 rushing touchdowns over his 46-game regular season career thus far.
