The Arizona Cardinals will be without team captain Kyzir White for at least the next four weeks as he's heading to injured reserve, according to head coach Jonathan Gannon.

"Kyzir's gonna go on IR," said Gannon today at his press conference. "Bicep, which is - I think he played five or six plays with a torn bicep which was actually kind of gut-wrenching to watch because I didn't know he tore his bicep and he's out there playing with one arm. That's why he is who he is - captain."

Antonio Hamilton and Leki Fotu also exited due to injury but Gannon said the Cardinals will know more about them throughout the week.

It's a massive blow for Arizona's defense, as White was not only a team captain, but also the heart and soul of the front seven. Immediately being brought over from the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency thanks to his familiarity with Gannon and DC Nick Rallis, White has filled the starting MIKE backer role well in the desert.

White leads the Cardinals with 90 tackles on the season. He also has registered three passes defensed, two sacks and one interception. Through the first half of the season, he was arguably Arizona's top defensive player.

He played 26 snaps last week.

White now becomes just the latest big name to hit injured reserve, as guys such as Budda Baker, Zach Ertz, L.J. Collier and James Conner have also been placed on the list earlier this season.

The Cardinals host the Los Angeles Rams next Sunday for Week 12 action. Josh Woods and Krys Barnes are expected to anchor the middle of the defense while White is out.
