Cardinals QB Kyler Murray doesn't practice but ankle feels 'good' ahead of 49ers game
Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters Monday that star quarterback Kyler Murray was considered "day-to-day" due to the ankle injury he suffered in last Thursday's loss to the Green Bay Packers that dropped Arizona to 7-1 on the season.
Per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Murray did not participate in Wednesday's practice session. This isn't shocking considering it was said over the weekend this setback could keep the QB1 sidelined for between one and three weeks. According to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss, however, Murray suggested he could be good to go for Sunday's matchup at the 3-4 San Francisco 49ers.
Understandably, Kingsbury wasn't ready to commit to anything when speaking with reporters.
Veteran Colt McCoy is next up on the depth chart if Murray is ruled out.
Via ESPN stats, Murray enters Week 9 fourth in the NFL with 2,276 passing yards and a 110.4 passer rating, fifth with a 63.0 total QBR, and tied for fifth with 17 passing touchdowns.
