Carlos Hyde signing with Seattle Seahawks

Playing all 16 regular-season games for the Houston Texans last season, Carlos Hyde rushed for more than 1,000 yards for the first time in his pro career.

He'll look to match that production with a return to the NFC.

On Friday afternoon, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the 29-year-old former San Francisco 49ers ball-carrier who has also spent time with the Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars is joining the Seattle Seahawks ahead of Memorial Day:

Schefter added that Seattle currently has a crowded backfield:

Seattle's Chris Carson finished fifth in the league in rushing with 1,230 yards, but he suffered a fractured hip in Week 16. Teammate Rashaad Penny is recovering from a torn ACL and could miss the start of the season if it begins on time amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier this month, veteran Marshawn Lynch told ESPN's Scott Van Pelt he's open to once again returning to the Seahawks.

Lynch unretired to play for Seattle in Week 17 and a pair of postseason contests.
