CeeDee Lamb: 'No secret' Cowboys want Dak Prescott back

The Dallas Cowboys have one major goal heading into the offseason: re-sign Dak Prescott to a long-term deal. The team has made no effort to hide its desire to keep Prescott in Dallas, and that includes wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who acknowledged the entire organization is desperate to not let the quarterback slip away.

"It’s no secret we want Dak back," Lamb told USA TODAY Sports. "I trust that the guys in the office are definitely going to make the right decision. They know how much Dak means to us and how much we lean on him. I cannot wait to have him back."

Lamb is hardly alone in expressing his desire for Prescott to remain in Dallas. Owner Jerry Jones has repeatedly said that the team is going to do everything it can to make Prescott a Cowboy for as long as possible. Prescott was off to a phenomenal start to the 2020 season before he was forced to undergo surgery after suffering a compound fracture and dislocation to his right ankle during the Cowboys' Week 5 matchup against the New York Giants.

Interestingly, the injury may have been exactly what the Cowboys needed to see that they could not afford to lose Prescott. Before last season, Dallas was unable to reach a deal with the QB, choosing to instead sign him to a one-year, $31 million franchise tag that made his future with the team uncertain. Then the offense looked like a shell of itself once Prescott was out, and the Cowboys struggled to a 6-10 record.
