Chargers' Justin Herbert named Offensive Rookie of the Month for second straight month

Although Justin Herbert is 2-8 as the Los Angeles Chargers starting quarterback, he has arguably been the best rookie at his position this season.

Through the month of November, Herbert accumulated 1,473 passing yards, 11 passing touchdowns and a 94.8 passer rating. Those numbers helped him secure his second straight Rookie of the Month award.

Herbert became the first rookie to toss 10 or more touchdowns in the month of November since Peyton Manning in 1998. He currently is on pace to set a new NFL rookie record for touchdown passes in a season. Baker Mayfield currently holds the honor with 27 touchdown passes in 2018.

The 22-year-old has been pretty solid this season, and it appears the Chargers might have just found their new franchise quarterback after allowing Philip Rivers to sign with the Indianapolis Colts in free agency.

Herbert has completed 66.9% of his passes for 3,015 yards and 23 touchdowns against seven interceptions this season. He was supposed to be Tyrod Taylor's backup this year, but the signal-caller's punctured lung allowed Herbert to step in and never be replaced.
