Chargers WR Keenan Allen: 'Tyreek Hill, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans ARE NOT better receivers than me!'
A Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver isn't happy with his ranking on NFL Network's list of the Top 100 players for 2020.
Keenan Allen, who's entering his eighth season in the NFL, has declared that he's a better wide receiver than Kansas City Chiefs' Tyreek Hill and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers duo of Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, which certainly is questionable.
His tweet comes after players ranked him No. 77 on the NFL Network list.
Allen, a three-time Pro Bowler, finished the 2019 campaign with 104 catches for 1,199 yards and six touchdowns.
Hill, on the other hand, won a Super Bowl with Kansas City and has the speed to make defenders look silly. However, he finished with just 860 receiving yards last season, which was well behind Allen.
Evans responded to Allen on Monday morning, and even called him out for tagging the wrong Godwin.
Evans reeled in 67 receptions for 1,157 yards and eight touchdowns last season while Godwin had 86 receptions for 1,333 yards and nine touchdowns. Both receivers put up those numbers with a subpar Jameis Winston at quarterback, which makes it even more impressive. With Tom Brady at the helm of the Buccaneers offense in 2020, both receivers are primed for their best season yet.
If Allen wants to prove his point, he'll be able to do so this season as the Chargers face both the Chiefs and Buccaneers this year. However, one game won't necessarily make his case any stronger.
