Chiefs' Arrowhead Stadium runs out of 'touchdown fireworks'

Following a slow start during Sunday night's AFC wild-card matchup against the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers, the Kansas City Chiefs' offense was lethal over the final three quarters. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and company trailed 7-0 at one point in the second quarter, but from then on, it was all Kansas City.

Across the second and third periods, Mahomes tossed touchdown passes to five different receivers -- including lineman Nick Allegretti -- as the Chiefs looked to advance to the AFC divisional round against the Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs were scoring so much at one point that Arrowhead Stadium had to notify fans of an obscure problem it was encountering.

While Mahomes accounted for five of the touchdowns through the air, both tight end Travis Kelce and wideout Byron Pringle had a pair of scores. Kelce and Pringle each caught scoring passes from Mahomes, while Kelce found Pringle in the end zone early in the fourth quarter on a trick play.

It was announced toward the end of the Chiefs-Steelers broadcast that No. 2 Kansas City -- presuming it beats Pittsburgh -- would take on the third-seeded Buffalo Bills in the divisional round at 6:30 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS.
