Kansas City Chiefs free agency additions
- Defensive tackle Chris Jones will be staying in Kansas City with a new five-year contract extension that essentially boils down to a three-year deal with $95 million guaranteed, though even that $95 million guaranteed has some flexibility for KC.
- Linebacker Drue Tranquill signed a three-year deal worth $19 million with $13 million fully guaranteed. For more details on Tranquill's deal, click here.
- Punter Matt Araiza reportedly signed a minimum contract for 2024, indicating a one-year, $795,000 deal.
Kansas City Chiefs free agency losses
- This section will be updated as news breaks.
- Though it isn't yet official, the Tranquill and Araiza signings certainly indicate likely departures for two pending free agents: linebacker Willie Gay Jr., who already tweeted his goodbye to Chiefs fans, and punter Tommy Townsend.
Other Chiefs free agency moves
- This section will be updated as news breaks.
- Likely "other" moves around free agency could include a trade of franchise-tagged cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, a restructuring of the contract of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, or other moves that would give the Chiefs more chances to stay flexible throughout free agency.
After free agency, the Chiefs will turn their focus to the 2024 NFL Draft, where they are currently scheduled to have seven draft picks before any potential trade of cornerback L'Jarius Sneed.
