Chiefs' Nick Allegretti details experience of having twins, winning Super Bowl in same day

Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Nick Allegretti talked with Jamie Erdahl of "Good Morning Football" on Thursday, detailing his insane Super Bowl Sunday.

Not only did the 26-year-old win his second championship with the Chiefs when the team defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII, but less than 24 hours earlier, his wife -- Christina -- gave birth to twins at 3:30 a.m. in Chicago.

Allegretti discussed with Erdahl the exhilaration of being able to hoist the Lombardi trophy again, as well as the difficulty of not being with his wife and new daughters in the delivery room over 1,000 miles away.

"It's been pretty crazy," Allegretti said. "I got a call at three in the morning, it was my wife and the first thing she says is 'alright stay there but the babies are coming.' Went down to the lobby and paced for about an hour and then got pictures of my daughters. So it was a crazy start to the day. And then it was a crazy finish to the day to top it off."

Allegretti went on to discuss his whirlwind day and balancing the emotions of the day while being away from his wife at such a special time both on and off the field.

Perhaps unlike any of its 56 predecessors, Super Bowl LVII was very much baby-themed.

Halftime performer Rihanna revealed her second pregnancy during her show, while it was reported leading up to the big game that Eagles center Jason Kelce's wife -- Kylie -- would be bringing her OB-GYN to the contest, as she is 38 weeks pregnant with the couple's third child. As of Thursday, it hasn't been reported if the Kelce's have had the new baby yet.

Allegretti, incredibly, wasn't the only player on Kansas City to have a Super Bowl baby (or two in his case), as wide receiver Mecole Hardman and his partner -- Chariah Gordon -- welcomed their first baby (a boy) into the world early Monday morning.
