Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire to play vs. Bills; Darrel Williams questionable

The Kansas City Chiefs will have at least one half of their dynamic backfield tandem for their Sunday night AFC divisional round clash against the Buffalo Bills.

Edwards-Helaire has missed the last three games with a shoulder injury, while Williams was limited to one carry in the Chiefs' wild-card round win over the Pittsburgh Steelers five days ago and is dealing with a toe injury. Rashad Fenton is questionable due to a back ailment.

With Edwards-Helaire inactive against Pittsburgh and Williams going down early, Kansas City's backfield was sixth-year pro Jerick McKinnon, who produced 18 touches (12 rushing attempts and six receptions) for 142 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown catch. In 10 contests in 2021, Edwards-Helaire had 119 carries for 517 yards and four touchdowns, while adding 19 receptions for 129 yards and two scores through the air.

Williams recorded career-bests in rushing attempts (144), rushing yards (558), rushing touchdowns (six), targets (57), receptions (47), receiving yards (452) and receiving touchdowns (two) during the 2021 campaign. Fenton posted a career-high 49 tackles this season despite missing three games, also registering seven passes defended during the campaign, which tied his previous best mark from 2020.
