Chiefs' Sammy Watkins, Mitchell Schwartz won't play vs. Broncos

Wide receiver Sammy Watkins and starting offensive tackle Mitchell Schwartz won't play for the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday's game against division foes the Denver Broncos.

As Adam Teicher noted for ESPN, Watkins is missing his second consecutive contest because of a hamstring injury he suffered in the loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 11. Schwartz has a back problem.

Additionally, Kansas City defensive ends Taco Charlton (knee) and Alex Okafor (hamstring) won't be available this weekend.

Demarcus Robinson replaced Watkins in the lineup for Monday's win over the Buffalo Bills and finished the game tied with tight end Travis Kelce with five receptions. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes targeted Robinson six times, and the 26-year-old accumulated 69 receiving yards.

Per Teicher, Mike Remmers replaced Schwartz up front, while Nick Allegretti took Remmers' original spot on the line. Kansas City's offense responded by notching 245 rushing yards in the win. That could be good news for fantasy football owners with running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire on their rosters, as Denver is allowing 110.6 yards on the ground per game.

The Broncos are coming off an 18-12 win over the New England Patriots. Denver held New England quarterback Cam Newton to 157 passing yards and picked him off twice in the win, but the Patriots did gain 117 rushing yards last Sunday. Newton was responsible for 76 of those yards.
