Colts WR T.Y. Hilton expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering unspecified injury

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering an unspecified injury during Wednesday's practice, according to Stephen Holder and Zak Keefer of The Athletic.

The injury is reportedly not considered season-ending.

ESPN's Adam Schefter later reported that Hilton was being evaluated for an upper back/neck injury.

Hilton has dealt with several injuries over the last couple of years. In 2019, he missed six games due to a quad strain and a calf tear, and in 2020 he missed a game with a groin injury.

Hilton's best season came in 2016 when he caught 91 passes for 1,448 yards and six scores. However, the 31-year-old has just one season of more than 1,000 yards since 2017. Last year, he had 56 catches for 762 yards and five touchdowns.

The Colts will have to rely on Michael Pittman Jr., Zach Pascal, Mike Strachan, Parris Campbell and Ashton Dulin if Hilton misses time to open the season.

Pittman, a 2020 second-round pick, is expected to make a leap forward in his sophomore campaign after catching 40 passes for 503 yards and a touchdown last season.
