Colts WR T.Y. Hilton unlikely to play vs. 49ers

The Indianapolis Colts just cannot get used to having veteran wide receiver T.Y. Hilton in the lineup.

Per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Colts head coach Frank Reich told reporters Friday that Hilton is unlikely to play in the upcoming "Sunday Night Football" matchup against the San Francisco 49ers because of the quad issue he picked up in last Sunday's 31-3 win over the Houston Texans.

Reich delivered good news, however, when he said All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson is on track to face the Niners. Nelson was recently designated to return from injured reserve after he missed time due to a high-ankle sprain.

Hilton missed the start of the campaign after having a surgical procedure on his neck and only made it back in the lineup for the Houston matchup. The four-time Pro Bowl selection tallied four catches for 80 yards in his season debut.

As for San Francisco, head coach Kyle Shanahan said Thursday that veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo could be "100%" recovered from the calf contusion he first suffered on Oct. 3 by Sunday. Rookie Trey Lance is still working his way back from a knee sprain and isn't expected to be available.
