Complete breakdown of Steelers' 2025 schedule
Even though the 2025 NFL season is still months away from kicking off, Steelers fans are now able to plan their fall schedules accordingly.
And as expected, Pittsburgh will experience plenty of interesting matchups with varying levels of difficulty.
Below shows the Steelers' complete schedule with some thoughts about each game.
Steelers 2025 regular-season schedule
Week 1: Sept. 7 at New York Jets
It's clear the NFL is holding out as much hope for Aaron Rodgers to join the Steelers as the team is. But with to without the Rodgers, opening with the Jets stands out as a motivating factor for the former Steeler turned Jet Justin Fields.
On paper, Pittsburgh should be able to win this game, granted it's tough to fully predict anything for the Steelers without knowing who will be under center.
Week 2: Sept. 14 vs. Seattle Seahawks
After dealing with a former Pittsburgh player looking for revenge, Week 2 offers a revenge opportunity for a current Steeler. DK Metcalf will surely want to go off against the team that traded him, but without much wide receiver help around him, his chances to do so may be limited.
Seattle switched Geno Smith for Sam Darnold, but will still likely be an average team.
Week 3: Sept. 21 at New England Patriots
Maybe Drake Maye and the Patriots take a step forward in 2025, but this one feels like a low scoring affair with the advantage going to whichever team creates more turnovers.
Week 4: Sept. 28 vs. Minnesota Vikings (in Ireland)
Minnesota will be the best team the Steelers face to this point and there's obvious intrigue with the game taking place in Dublin, Ireland. The Vikings will be the favorite going in, but the Steelers could get up for the occasion as well.
Week 5: Bye
A week 5 bye is a bit early, granted this had to be the Steelers' break due to being right after the long trip overseas.
Week 6: Oct. 12 vs. Cleveland Browns
The first divisional game is important aside from just the rivalry with the Browns. With that said, Cleveland has its own problems and quarterback questions.
Week 7: Oct. 16 at Cincinnati Bengals (TNF)
Regardless of Rodgers' decision, Joe Burrow provides Cincinnati with a big advantage at quarterback at this stage in their careers. However, based on 2024, the Bengals' defense will provide the Steelers a chance to score.
Week 8: Oct. 26 vs. Green Bay Packers (SNF)
With Rodgers involved, Steelers-Packers becomes a game of the week. Green Bay, who seems to be properly building around Jordan Love, will also be only the second playoff team from last season the Steelers have played to this point.
Week 9: Nov. 2 vs. Indianapolis Colts
Simply put, barring some major surprise the Steelers should view this as one of the easier games on their schedule.
Week 10: Nov. 9 at L.A. Chargers (SNF)
Najee Harris will be motivated to run all over the Steelers defense, a unit that could be tired from the season grind and long travel. Stopping the run and doing enough offensively to hang with Justin Herbert will be what this game ends up being all about.
Week 11: Nov. 16 vs. Cincinnati Bengals
The pressure on the second contest against the Bengals depends on what happened in their first matchup. Pittsburgh will at least have the chance to rebound at home if it lost weeks earlier in Cincinnati.
Week 12: Nov. 23 at Chicago Bears
Will Caleb Williams avoid a sophomore slump and turn Chicago into a contender? We will know by the time of this game, and those answers determine how to project this one.
Week 13: Nov. 30 vs. Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen and the Bills will ultimately be judged on what happens in the playoffs. However, there's no reason to believe Buffalo will be anything but one of the top teams in the AFC during the regular season.
Week 14: Dec. 7 at Baltimore Ravens
We don't get Steelers vs. Ravens until December, granted that means we will know just how good these teams are when they finally meet on the field. Lamar Jackson's athleticism will serve as a test for Pittsburgh's defense.
Week 15: Dec.15 vs. Miami Dolphins (MNF)
Miami has the ability to be explosive at times, but will likely endure an up and down year. This is a primetime game that should favor the Steelers after a brutal stretch the prior two weeks.
Week 16: Dec. 21 at Detroit Lions
Detroit has all the makings of team that should be a contender. How much the Lions put into this game may depend on what they are still playing for regarding playoff positioning.
Week 17: Dec. 28 at Cleveland Browns
Back-to-back rivalry games to end a season is never easy, although the Browns will probably already have their minds in Cancun by week 17.
Week 18: TBD vs. Baltimore Ravens
The Steelers need to hope they aren't in a must-win scenario just to make the playoffs when they close the regular season with a Baltimore team that may very well have the division locked up already.
A reasonable over/under win total to set for Pittsburgh is 8.5.
