Could Steelers trade QB Mitchell Trubisky?

QB Mitchell Trubisky's time in Pittsburgh may be nearing its end. But is there any way the Steelers could get some compensation for him?

Steelers insider Gerry Dulac believes that Pittsburgh could get some compensation for Trubisky on the trade market.

If the Steelers could somehow pull of this trade, it would certainly be a win. The team may already be planning to cut Trubisky in order to save $8 million against the cap in 2023.

Trubisky was benched in Week 4 for QB Kenny Pickett and only saw the field two more times due to concussions suffered by the rookie quarterback. He has since expressed his regret in signing with the Steelers.

"Everything happened kind of quick. I didn't really have a long time to think of the decision," Trubisky said. "I wish I would've taken some more time and not just signed the first day of free agency.”

The 28-year-old's market will heavily rely on how the rest of the quarterback dominoes fall after he produced an underwhelming 2022 season. He finished the year with 1,252 passing yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions.

However, if things play out the way the Steelers are hoping, they may just be able to add another rookie to their draft class with Trubisky getting another fresh start.
