Cowboys announce brother of Dak Prescott has died

The Dallas Cowboys announced Thursday night that the brother of Dak Prescott has died. Jace Prescott, 31, will always hold a place in the family's heart.

While the reason for his death is unknown at this time, the Cowboys released the following statement, according to CBS Sports' Patrik Walker:

"It is with great sadness and support that we share the news of the passing of Jace Prescott today The loss of Tad and Dak's brother is devastating. At this incredibly difficult time, the Prescott family asks only for prayers and respect for their privacy."

Jace was Dak's older brother, but the middle child of the three brothers. The trio filmed a Campbell's Soup commercial earlier this year, and that displayed just how close they were.

Dak lost his mother to colon cancer in 2013, and could possibly dedicate his 2020 season to his mother and older brother.

The news of Jace's death was first reported by the assistant athletic director of media relations at Northwestern State University, according to CBS. Jace was an offensive lineman over four years at Northwestern State in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

There have been no further updates at this time.
