Cowboys showing interest in free-agent Pro Bowl LB Bobby Wagner?
It's been a hectic week for eight-time Pro Bowl linebacker Bobby Wagner. The 31-year-old former Super Bowl-champion was released by the only NFL club that he's known — the Seattle Seahawks — on Tuesday. On Thursday, there appeared to be mutual appreciation between Wagner and the club, despite the move.
Then on Friday afternoon, the six-time All-Pro sent shockwaves throughout the league when he took to Twitter to call out the organization for the way his release was handled. Now with Wagner up for grabs, a notable team with an already-stacked defense is possibly looking into bringing in the Utah St. product, though there have been conflicting reports.
Wagner has earned Pro Bowl honors in eight consecutive seasons and just a career-high with 170 tackles in 2021. He is first among active players with 1,383 combined tackles.
Wagner has been one of the most durable players on defense over the last decade, appearing on at least 85% of the Seahawks' defensive snaps in every year he's been in the league. Since his second season in 2013, he's been on the field for at least 93% of the team's snaps on defense as well.
