According to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State have officially set a date for their next matchup on the basketball court.

The Sooners and Cowboys will reportedly meet at the PayCom Center in Oklahoma City on December 13, almost exactly one year after their most recent matchup at the same venue.

The two in-state rivals met on December 14, 2024, with Oklahoma prevailing in an 80-65 contest over Oklahoma State.

The Sooners, ranked 13th at that time, would go on to finish 20-14 on the year, with a first-round loss to UConn in the 2025 NCAA Men’s Tournament.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma State would go on to finish 17-18 in the program’s first year under Steve Lutz after a loss to North Texas in the third round of the NIT.

Last year’s outcome will have minimal impact on how the 2025 matchup, as both teams have completely retooled their rosters since their seasons ended.

In fact, it would appear that the only familiar faces in this contest will be the head coaches, as Will Lutz and Porter Moser are both set to return.
