DeAndre Hopkins makes revealing comment on QB Will Levis

Tennessee Titans wideout DeAndre Hopkins hasn't played with a quarterback quite like Will Levis.

In a day and age where comparisons are commonplace, Hopkins, when asked by reporters Friday, couldn't come up with one for Levis.

"I really can't compare him to young quarterbacks I've been around," Hopkins said via Turron Davenport of ESPN. "I've played with a lot and all of them have strengths and weaknesses, just like everybody in the league."

Thrust into action following injuries to Ryan Tannehill and Malik Willis, Levis has made two starts with mixed results for the 3-5 Titans. After recording four touchdown passes in his debut win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8, Levis fell back to earth in Week 9, completing 22-of-39 passes for 262 yards and an interception in a 20-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

While it's only been two games of up-and-down play, Hopkins said Levis has shown composure and competitiveness during games and practice.

"He takes everything serious, not just on the game field but the practice field as well. That's what you've got to love about him," Hopkins said. "He wanna be that guy. He wants to be the one that are in those situations that we can count on. He's working, like all of us."

Levis has smartly attempted to lean on Hopkins in his first two starts as a pro. Over two games, Levis has targeted Hopkins 17 times, which the elite wideout has turned into eight catches for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Hopkins explained that being one of Levis' go-to guys was important, adding that the entire offense needed to have the rookie's back.

"We gotta be reliable when it comes our way," Hopkins said. "There's going to be mistakes. Growing pains. That's part of the game, but for us, we feel like we gotta be reliable and it's on us. We don't want him to feel like the pressure on him. Just go out and have fun."
