Deebo Samuel is still bitter from the NFC Championship game loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Samuel has had a history of calling out the Eagles in podcast interviews and he isn’t stopping. In a recent interview, he said that “100%” the Eagles are the most hated team in the NFL.

Deebo Samuel Hates The Philadelphia Eagles

“We lost the NFC Championship because we played with 10 people,” Samuel said. This is of course a reference to Brock Purdy going out with an elbow injury before his backup also went down with an injury. This led to the 49ers basically playing without a quarterback. A team is not going to win many games in the NFL, let alone the NFC Championship game, without a quarterback. Samuel clearly thinks that the 49ers would’ve won had they had a healthy quarterback.

Lots Of Eagles Hate

The distaste for the Eagles is at an all-time high right now. After nailing the draft, many GMs were upset at how much praise GM Howie Roseman was getting. Teams tried to get one of the Eagles’ bread-and-butter plays banned in the offseason. Right now, everyone is talking about them as the clear favorite in the NFC. It isn’t a surprise that teams are frustrated. Any time a team is a heavy favorite, they tend to be a lightning rod of hate. However, you can’t blame the Eagles for this. They are trying to win and are doing a good job of building a team that can win a Super Bowl.

The NFL is better with heated rivalries. Deebo Samuel throwing gasoline on the fire that is the San Francisco 49ers-Philadelphia Eagles rivalry is good for the sport. This will make for an interesting season especially if these two teams meet again in the playoffs.
