After two unremarkable seasons with star quarterback Russell Wilson at the helm, the Denver Broncos have opted for a fresh direction, parting ways with the seasoned player and allowing him to join the Pittsburgh Steelers in NFL free agency.

Having firmly turned the page on the Wilson era, the Broncos appear to be placing their trust in Jarrett Stidham for the foreseeable future, potentially viewing him as their starting quarterback for Week 1 under the guidance of head coach Sean Payton.

Nevertheless, recent speculation suggests that the Broncos may entertain the idea of acquiring a rookie quarterback, given the abundance of talent available at the position in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.

Realistically, the Broncos may not have access to the top-tier prospects with the 12th overall pick, but players like Michael Penix Jr. or Bo Nix could still be within reach.

While there might be several promising quarterback options when the Broncos are on the clock on April 25, Brian Baldinger of NFL Network, as reported by DNVR Broncos, doesn’t anticipate Payton pursuing that route.

The Broncos’ draft strategy will undoubtedly be a point of interest as the event approaches later this month. Drafting a quarterback could prove beneficial for the team, given the uncertainty surrounding Stidham’s performance next season and beyond.

As the Denver Broncos aim for a swift return to form, the decisions made in the draft will offer insight into whether their focus is on long-term rebuilding or immediate impact on the team’s fortunes.

Only time will reveal the course of action chosen by the Broncos’ front office.
