Deshaun Watson: 'I was definitely hurt' when Texans traded DeAndre Hopkins

As Deshaun Watson prepares for the upcoming season, he must get ready to take the field without superstar receiver DeAndre Hopkins , who was traded to the Arizona Cardinals during the offseason. It's a devastating loss for the young quarterback, and while being interviewed on Carmelo Anthony's YouTube series "What's In Your Glass," Watson admitted he was "hurt" by losing his favorite receiver.

"I definitely was hurt when we let [Hopkins] go," Waston told Anthony. "That's my brother, that's my dog. But that's part of the business. Something I can't control."

But even though Watson was sad to see Hopkins go, he won't let that distract him from focusing on this season. Watson told Anthony that he expects to have his best season yet and that he is excited to play with his new teammates, including running back David Johnson and wide receiver Randall Cobb.

"I'm really looking forward to just going out there and changing the game," Watson said. "Taking my game to another level, especially with the new additions."

When Hopkins was traded back in March, it shocked the NFL. Even Watson called the situation "crazy" in a tweet thanking Hopkins for being such a great teammate.

"Man this is crazy," Watson tweeted. "Not sure how you thank someone who has done so much for you and your career. Not only someone who was a leader but one of the best to ever do it. Even more I appreciate your genuine friendship from Day 1. Wishing you everything you deserve Fam!"
