The Philadelphia Eagles made a coaching splash last week when they hired former Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to the same role, replacing the now-fired Brian Johnson.

How did Eagles star receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown react to the hiring? The duo made an appearance on Kay Adams' "Up & Adams" show and revealed their "one wish" for Moore next season.

“Just let us do what we do," Smith said. "Like anybody else would say, just get us the ball.”

As Smith was answering the question, both he and Brown started to crack a smile. Fans might take this as a sign of their frustrations with Johnson during the back-half of the season, with the laughter potentially resulting from conversations Brown and Smith have had behind closed doors about this exact topic.

There's no way to truly know, as Brown and Smith are unlikely to ever bash Johnson publicly. Still, Smith's comments say a lot about how this season went for the Eagles.

Despite Philly's short-comings on offense, Smith and Brown still produced at a high level this season. If Moore makes it a point to get them the rock, it's anyone's guess what kind of numbers one of the league's best receiving duos will be able to produce.

Brown finished the 2023 season with 106 catches for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns. He had six 100-yard receiving games during the first eight weeks of the season but had just one more the rest of the way.

As for Smith, he finished with 81 catches for 1,066 yards and seven scores. With Brown sidelined for Philly's Wild Card matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Smith was one of the few bright spots for the Eagles, as he posted a season-high 148 yards on eight catches.
