Did 'Madden 24' snub Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb in top 10 WR ratings?

Despite making his second consecutive Pro Bowl last season, Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb didn't crack the top 10 wide receiver ratings in "Madden 24."

Lamb fell into the second tier of WRs, ranking at No. 11 behind Cleveland's Amari Cooper, Philadelphia's A.J. Brown and Washington's Terry McLaurin.

While it's not a complete diss, it's surprising that Lamb didn't rank higher after a career year. In 17 games last season, the 24-year-old tied for fifth in receptions (107) and finished sixth in receiving yards (1,359.) He also bested Cooper and McLaurin in each category.

Although Dallas went 12-5 last season, its passing game, which finished 14th in passing yards last season, suffered from inconsistency. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw a league-leading 15 interceptions in 12 starts. Outside of Lamb, no Cowboys receiver crossed the 60-reception mark. So Lamb's impact shouldn't be understated.

"Lamb accounted for 30 percent of the Cowboys' receptions, which was the second-highest rate in the NFL," wrote Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports. "With that mark, he became the first Cowboy to record 30 percent of Dallas' catches in a season since [Pro Football Hall of Famer] Michael Irvin did so in 1995."

Although Dallas acquired WR Brandin Cooks this offseason, expect the Cowboys to continue to rely on Lamb. He's on an upward trajectory and is a valuable offensive component.

As for the Madden ratings, it could change if Lamb plays at an elite level again. The game's ratings change throughout the regular season.

Regardless, Lamb has a strong case as one of the 10 best wideouts in the NFL and could continue to strengthen it this season.
