With the Washington Commanders starting this week's NFL Draft with ownership of the second overall pick, it appears that they will have almost free reign on whomever they want in this class.

They need a quarterback, and some say they seem to be leaning toward current Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels.

So they like Daniels.

But what if Daniels doesn't like them?

ESPN's Adam Schefter, via CBS Sports: "It didn't seem to go over too well with the agent for Jayden Daniels, Ron Butler, who sounded off on social media last night that he didn't seem particularly pleased with the process, I think Jayden Daniels thought it would be a visit with just him meeting with the Commanders.

"Many people think that Jayden Daniels will wind up being the No. 2 overall pick. But the Commanders essentially opened up the process."

What is the displeasure regarding? The Commanders hosted a bundle of QB prospects all at the same time ... which some think was disrespectful.

Meanwhile Adam Peters - the GM of the Commanders - rebutted Schefter, informing ESPN and the world that all of the players they were interested in received "a lot of time individually with coaches.''

"What's cool is we got to see them all together in a group setting; They all got a lot of time individually with coaches and with us. They were staggered coming in, too. It was a great blend of that and working everyone together in a fun environment," said Peters.

But who knows? As the draft hasn't started yet, and as they say "nothing is set in stone." ... and that means not just the picks, but the emotions as well.
