Dolphins add another star playmaker on offense

The Dolphins already have one of the most electric offenses in the league with players like wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle and running backs Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane.

However, with the chance to become an even more dangerous unit, Miami added another big-time playmaker on Friday.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins are expected to sign veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year deal worth up to $8.25M. Beckham Jr. reportedly could have made more elsewhere but felt Miami was the best fit for him.

In March, head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters at the league meeting that the team had made an offer to Beckham Jr. but that "business takes time."

It seems there has now been enough time, and it's a massive addition for the Dolphins offense, which now arguably boasts the best wide receiver trio in the league.

The 31-year-old is, of course, not the same player he used to be. However, he still proved to be serviceable with the Ravens last season, totaling 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns after missing all of 2022 due to a torn ACL suffered in Super Bowl LVI.

That's all Miami will need Beckham Jr. to be as he joins one of the most star-studded offenses in the NFL.

The three-time Pro Bowler and former Super Bowl champion will also bring some much-needed experience and veteran leadership to a team that seems to have underachieved the past couple of years.

The Dolphins have made it to the postseason in back-to-back seasons but have been one-and-done in both years.

Miami is hoping Beckham Jr. could be the missing piece to its offense, which averaged the most total yards per game (401.3) in the league last season. If so, opposing defenses should beware.
