Dolphins All-Pro WR fined for absurd reason

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was recently docked a hefty chunk of change for lacking some peculiar attire during the team's 50-point win over the Denver Broncos in Week 3.

The lack of socks didn't seem to impact the All-Pro's performance, as he scored on a 54-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on the third play of the contest. Hill finished the game with game-highs in receptions (nine) and receiving yards (157) on 11 targets.

The seven-time Pro Bowler is an early-season MVP candidate along with Tagovailoa, San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey and others.

The NFL (often referred to as the "No Fun League") has been criticized in the past for dishing out unnecessary fines for seemingly innocent uniform "violations."

Though he wasn't fined, Philadelphia Eagles wideout A.J. Brown made headlines recently when he claimed that the league made him change cleats mid-game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3. According to NFL guidelines, players must wear "white, black or team-colored cleats."

The Eagles top wideout opened the contest sporting cleats that appeared to be neon green or yellow.

Brown was able to dominate the Bucs secondary regardless of what he was wearing, finishing the "Monday Night Football" tilt with nine catches for 131 yards.

Hill leads the Dolphins into Week 5 with $7,000 less in his bank account, as Miami looks to recover from their first loss of the season. They host the New York Giants at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
