Eagles C Jason Kelce will tie 60-year franchise record Sunday against Colts

When All-Pro center Jason Kelce steps on the field Sunday for the Philadelphia Eagles Week 11 contest against the Indianapolis Colts, he'll tie a 60-year-old franchise record.

Kelce will play in game No. 169 for the Eagles, matching Hall of Famer Chuck Bednarik for the most by an offensive lineman in the team's 89-year history.

Kelce has been the definition of reliable throughout his career in midnight green. The 35-year-old hasn't missed a regular-season game since Week 7 of the 2014 season, having played in 131 consecutive games.

Earlier this year, Kelce spoke about his conditioning on his podcast "New Heights" (via NBC Sports Philly) and credited "veteran's rest" days, which he was initially against, for helping keep him fresh on Sundays.

"I used to be firmly against this and I didn't think - especially in a position of communication," Kelce said. "Part of my job is making sure everyone else is on the same page and everything is being communicated and everybody else knows what they're supposed to do off that communication."

Kelce said he couldn't "fathom" sitting out practice knowing how integral his role is, but he was eventually persuaded into taking rest days by the Eagles' strength coaches. So far, they're paying huge dividends.

"I started doing it, and I'm not going to lie I felt much better on game days," Kelce said. "So we kept doing it."
