Eagles center Jason Kelce speculates how NFL will eventually ban controversial play

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce speculated how the NFL could eventually ban his team's nearly unstoppable "tush push" during Wednesday's episode of the "New Heights" podcast.

Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team noted that the elder of the two Kelce brothers brought up the topic because the New York Giants recently had two players get injured while attempting (and failing) the "tush push" (which has also been called the "brotherly shove").

Giants head coach Brian Daboll revealed recently that both rookie center John Michael Schmitz and tight end Daniel Bellinger suffered shoulder and knee injuries respectively when the team tried the quarterback sneak-like move in Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks. The failed attempt came on 4th-and-1 during New York's first offensive possession from Seattle's 27-yard line.

Daboll admitted last week that the Giants had only tried the play during practice before breaking it out in the "Monday Night Football" tilt against the Seahawks.

Bellinger was able to return from injury for the team's Week 5 contest against the Miami Dolphins, but Schmitz missed the game and still hasn't returned to practice.

The NFL competition committee considered banning the "tush push/brotherly shove" over the offseason but ultimately decided to keep it as an option.
