Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith officially signed his three-year, $75 million with $51 million guaranteed contract extension on Tuesday.
After putting pen to paper, Smith addressed the media where he showed Philly fans some love.
"I understand expectations are high in this city," Smith said. "The fans, they expect a lot from you. And when you're not playing up to it they let you know. Me, being the person I am, I nobody is harder on me than myself. So, there's nothing that fans say that can actually get to me. I embrace it.
"It just shows that the fans love it [Philly]. They live and breathe Philly. Not only us but basketball, baseball, everything. They love it and you want to be in a city like that and I always say, I don't think there's a better sports city than Philadelphia."
Smith has given Eagles fans a reason to love Philly football as he's been a reliable No. 2 pass catcher for the Birds.
Since being drafted at No. 10 overall in 2021, Smith has hauled in 240 catches for 3,178 yards and 19 touchdowns for the Eagles.
With his new deal, Smith is now locked in until 2028.
