People can quit stirring up those A.J. Brown trade rumors because he isn't going anywhere.

You may have missed out on that news because you were too caught up in the 2024 NFL Draft, but the Philadelphia Eagles signed their No. 1 wide receiver to a three-year, $96 million contract extension last Thursday.

Brown already had three years on his contract left so this new deal keeps him in Philly until 2029.

The Eagles just locked in their No. 2 target, DeVonta Smith, until 2028 as well.

When asked about the decision to get these deals done, Eagles general Howie Roseman gave a wise answer.

"We try to be proactive to try to keep this team together,” Roseman told reporters. “That starts with [Eagles owner] Jeffrey [Lurie] and his support like we talked about in our pre-draft press conference and just talking about the benefits of trying to keep it together as much as we possibly can. The only way we can possibly do that is by doing deals early. We felt like it was an opportunity to do that here with A.J. Obviously, we’ve done a bunch of deals with a bunch of our players, and want to add to that and keep this team together as much as we possibly can.”

It's believed that when the Eagles gave Smith a new deal that now pays him $25 million annually, Brown came knocking.

The Eagles could have ignored him, but they understand Brown's value to this team and that the wide receiver market is just going to keep going up from here.

So, they got proactive, again.

The numbers look big now, but with several other star receivers looking for their next big payday, Brown's and Smith's contracts are going to look like discount deals before long.

That's a "Big Pimpin" move by Roseman and the game.
